The Cooperative Hydrology Study (COHYST) is a cooperative effort to improve understanding of the hydrological and geological conditions in the Platte River Basin of Nebraska upstream of Columbus, Nebraska.
 
Purpose:
The purpose of this coverage is to create a boundary for the study area with a one kilometer buffer.

Process_Description:
The COHYST boundary was obtained from the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources and a buffer operation was preformed creating a new boundary which was one kilometer larger than the original boundary.  The 2001 Land cover classification and associated data layers were created at the extent of the cohyst boundary with the one kilometer buffer.
