Contact can provide up-to-date State-wide listing by County of BLM properties in Nebraska (legal descriptions), Process_Step: Process_Description: The data set was processed by the following steps: 1) Each property (WMA 219, SRA 72, SHP 11, FH 5, SP 8, SRT 1) boundary was verified by researching deed descriptions, survey maps, legal descriptions and other ancillary data; 2) Each property was drafted onto a USGS 7.5 minute topographic quadrangle; 3) A manuscript map was created on mylar which included 4 tic marks, lat/long coordinates, quad name, lines representing portions of area boundaries and polygons representing complete area boundaries. The area boundaries are represented by simple and complex polygons. Simple polygons are undivided areas (i.e., a WMA), while complex polygons are divided in areas of different characteristics such as a WMA within an SRA; 4) The mylar manuscript maps were digitized using a CALCOMP digitizer. The digitized files were converted from digitizer units to latitude/longitude and from DOS format to Unix. The converted files were transfered to the SUN Sparc 20 where the GENERATE and PROJECT commands were used to further convert the file to an ARC/INFO coverage; 5) Label points were added (CREATELABELS) to each polygon and the correct name (NAME C C 40) was assigned to each label point; 6) The data set was finally visually edited, comparing the newly created digital data with the hard copy maps, deed descriptions, survey map and ancillary data.
