Water Resources Database Advisory Committee
Nebraska
Watershed Boundary Database Working Group
Authorizing Motion - Passed by Nebraska GIS Steering Committee on 9/5/02
The Water Resources
Database Advisory should be re-activated and charged with studying the
current sub-watershed delineations (8-digit HUCs), along with the new proposed
Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) [otherwise known as 5th (10
digit) and 6th (12 digit) level
hydrologic units or Hydrologic Unit Codes (HUCs)]. NRCS,
USGS, DEQ, DAg, NDNR, NGPC, NRDs and other interested
local, state and federal interested parties will be invited to participate in
this effort and they will choose a lead agency to convene and chair the Advisory
Committee. The Advisory Committee will study the
merits of the proposed WBD program and report back to the Steering Committee
with recommendations. If the
program finds support by the participating agencies, the Steering Committee will
be asked to endorse the project.

Sample EDNA Watershed Data for Lincoln Area
Click here to got to the EDNA (Elevation Derivatives for National Applications) site. The link to Lincoln is under the applications drop-down (133 Urban Areas - Lincoln). On the linked page find the reference to "Access" section and use the link to "133 Urban Areas Project" and for the network security dialogue box enter "city" for user and "120" for the password. Please keep in mind that the EDNA site is draft and may have incomplete content. There is a tool at the bottom of the tool list in the map service that will let you click any point and read out the elevation value. It is useful when trying to figure out why the EDNA catchments and lines come out the way they do.
